“From a month ago, we were predicting an increasing number of new cases from mid to late October. We saw this unfold and the status quo in Tehran provides us with an image of the entire country. When the trend begins to increase across the country, Tehran witnesses a similar rise in numbers,” said a member of the Iran Medical Sciences University senior board members on Friday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Students of 10th, 11th, and 12th grades will be returning to school on November 6; students of 7th, 8th, and 9th grades, and elementary school students, will be returning to school around November 25,” according to a statement released by the regime’s Education Ministry on Friday.

Two weeks ago, a member of the regime’s Majlis (parliament) Health Commission acknowledged that the vaccination process in Iran is non-standard and thus re-opening schools would be “suicide.”

“During the past 24 hours 846 people have contracted coronavirus. We currently have 1029 people hospitalized, of which 225 are in ICUs and 45 are under ventilators,” said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Friday, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

“From late March to this day there have been 1091 students contracting coronavirus [in the city of Boyer Ahmad] and 242 of them contracted the virus from September 23 onward,” said the mayor of Boyer Ahmad on Friday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“The number of new cases in the past 24 hours shows an increase. During the past 24 hours there have been 363 confirmed Covid-19 cases across [Yazd] province. We currently have 449 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 83 are in ICUs,” said the spokesperson of Yazd Medical Sciences University on Friday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).
