“There has been an increase in the number of new cases in four provinces along with cases of the black fungus in our country,” said Deputy Health Minister Ghasem Jan-Babaie on Wednesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The fifth peak has yet to finish, and the red carpet is out for the sixth peak. The last four week’s stats are still higher than the previous peaks and there are no reports of general decreases. This is especially important that in some provinces such as Alborz, Kurdistan, Mazandaran, Fars, Yazd, and Gilan the stats are slowly rising,” according to a report wired today by the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

In Qom province the head of the Health Center said on Wednesday that nearly 44 percent of the recent Covid-19 tests have been positive. “The speed of the coronavirus’ spread in Qom province in the past few days has been increasing. This is an alarm bell sounding about a new Covid-19 peak,” this official added, according to the regime’s official IRIB news agency.

“The number of coronavirus patients hospitalized is now higher than those being discharged. As we speak the number of people being temporarily hospitalized is on the rise,” said the deputy dean of Ilam Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“We are still witnessing a significant number of people contracting coronavirus. We currently have 1773 patients hospitalized, of which 191 are in ICUs. During the past 24 hours 15 people have lost their lives,” said the dean of Shiraz Medical Sciences University of Fars province on Wednesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“We currently have 858 patients hospitalized, of which 164 are in ICUs and 31 are in dire conditions. We have 376 patients hospitalized temporary to receive Remdesivir injections. This is an increase of 52 cases in comparison to yesterday,” according to a statement released on Wednesday by the Kermanshah Coronavirus Information Center.
