The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 123,876 around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 107,226 in Tehran, 37,590 in Razavi Khorasan, 31,045 in Isfahan, 28,075 in Khuzestan, 16,713 in West Azerbaijan, 16,585 in Fars, 15,215 in Lorestan, 12,550 in Qom, 12,187 in Kerman, 8553 in Hamedan, 8338 in Markazi (Central), 8324 in Kermanshah, 7710 in Hormozgan, 7528 in Yazd, 6165 in Semnan, 5149 in Bushehr, and 3314 in Kohgiluyeh & Boyer Ahmad. “We have taken the necessary measures for the sixth wave and all hospitals are on high alert. The personnel, physicians, nurses, and Scientific Committees are ready,” claimed Health Minister Bahram Einollahi on Saturday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“We are in an ambush of the sixth wave. As long as the number of people entering our hospitals do not decrease and ICUs are not emptied, the death toll will remain to be high. Today we have nearly 5,000 patients in ICUs and some of them may not make it,” said Massoud Mardani, a senior member of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Saturday, according to the state-run Shafaqna news agency.

“Time and again we have said just as the first to fifth peaks all came without any warnings, the sixth peak will also begin as a surprise. Aside from the vaccination status quo that some have received one dose, and some have received two doses, and there are some who have received different coronavirus vaccine doses, if we see the current circumstances as adequate, while it is truly not, we have still yet to reach the standard level for logical vaccination coverage. Therefore, we should not continue the suicide measures of the past few days,” said Anushirwan Mohseni Bandpey, a member of the regime’s Majlis (parliament) on Saturday, according to the state-run ROKNA news agency.

“A 28 percent increase in the number of red status cities in comparison to last week is an emphasis that our current circumstances are fragile. The major cities and others that host travelers can suddenly become a new crisis in late October and November. This constant trend is, in fact, the fire beneath the ashes that can lead to the sixth wave following a 14-day period,” according to a Saturday report wired by the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

“If we think that the vaccine alone can control this illness, we are dead wrong. The vaccine alone cannot control this illness. Regarding the sixth wave, the further down this road we go, considering the fact that winter is nearing, parallel to students returning to school and universities, such conditions lead to an increase in the number of new cases,” said the head of the Infections Illnesses Center on Saturday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The new coronavirus peak has begun in some areas of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad province due to the rising number of new cases. The sixth peak will begin sooner than expected in this province,” said the dean of Yasuj Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“An increase in the number of people being hospitalized in [Lorestan] province indicates the possibility of a sixth coronavirus peak. We currently have 529 coronavirus patients hospitalized,” said the deputy dean of Lorestan Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“The sixth peak is very close. During the past 24 hours patients with coronavirus symptoms have been hospitalized. During the past week we had an average of 8000 patients being visited for breathing disorder symptoms. This is a significant number,” said the spokesperson of Yazd Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the IRGC-affiliated Fars news agency.

“40 confirmed deaths and 103 suspicious coronavirus cases were registered among children of [Isfahan] province from June 22 to this day, and during the fifth wave,” said the deputy dean of Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

In Kermanshah province, “the three cities of Paveh, Javanrud, and Sarpol Zahab are registered as red zones. There are currently 863 patients hospitalized, of which 174 are in ICUs and 24 are in dire conditions. During the past 24 hours 343 patients were temporarily hospitalized and received Remdesivir as medication,” according to a report wired on Saturday by the Tasnim news agency.
