Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, October 5, 2021—Over 448,900 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Tuesday afternoon local time, October 5. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 121,563 around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 105,106 in Tehran, 36,865 in Razavi Khorasan, 30,230 in Isfahan, 27,505 in Khuzestan, 16,705 in Mazandaran, 16,158 in West Azerbaijan, 16,145 in Fars, 15,720 in Gilan, 13,178 in Alborz, 12,315 in Qom, 11,022 in Kerman, 8418 in Hamedan, 8198 in Markazi (Central), 8089 in Kermanshah, 7605 in Hormozgan, 5635 in Ardabil, and 5069 in Bushehr. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Tuesday as 216 deaths and 13,226 new cases, of which 1922 were hospitalized. Furthermore, 5665 patients are in ICUs.

While public anger continues to escalate over the mullahs’ plundering and criminal coronavirus policies, regime officials are placing the blame on their predecessors in fear of possible future protests.

“In our country the health sector has been neglected. In the 14 trips that we have had during this short period to different provinces we visited various health centers. Nearly all health centers have been off our network,” said Health Minister Bahram Einollahi on Tuesday, according to the state-run Daneshju news agency.

“If the previous officials were more active in the health apparatus maybe today, we would not be witnessing this number of coronavirus deaths,” said Alireza Marandi, head physician of regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and head of the Medical Sciences School, on Tuesday, according to the state-run Daneshju news agency.

“Despite the vaccination effort, other measures are needed to be in our agenda because otherwise more peaks will be in our future. The novel coronavirus continues to spread across the country,” said a senior regime health official on Tuesday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“The 44 percent increase in the number of new cases in comparison to the first day of the week is an alarm bell. Each minute we have ten people contracting the virus. In the coming 14 days we will probably witness the beginning of the sixth peak,” according to a Tuesday report wired by the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

“The number of nurses who contracted Covid-19 increased with the spread of the fifth coronavirus peak in [North Khorasan] province. In January nurses received a coronavirus payment. However, afterwards there were no further instructions from the Ministry. Our colleagues working in the coronavirus branches expect to be paid for their hard work,” said the director of the Nursing Department in the North Khorasan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“More than 2000 hospitals beds in Fars province are currently in use by coronavirus patients. 186 of these patients are in ICU branches and receiving special care,” according to a statement released on Tuesday by the Shiraz Medical Sciences University.

“During the past 24 hours 377 people across [Isfahan] province have been hospitalized. Currently 1962 people are hospitalized, of which 335 are in ICUs,” said the spokesperson of Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the state-run IMNA news agency.

“During the past 24 hours 208 new patients have been hospitalized. Currently we have 990 patients hospitalized, of which 202 are in ICUs and 51 are in dire conditions,” according to a statement released by the Kermanshah Medical Sciences University on Tuesday.

“83 patients entered various hospitals during the past 24 hours, of which 77 were hospitalized. Currently we have 445 people hospitalized, of which 108 are in dire conditions,” said the dean of Qom Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“It is possible that [Kohgiluyeh & Boyer Ahmad] province will begin seeing a rising trend, leading to the death of some of our locals. We currently have 277 patients in our hospitals across the province,” said the dean of Yasuj Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.
