The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 119,360 around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 103,156 in Tehran, 36,025 in Razavi Khorasan, 29,270 in Isfahan, 26,294 in Khuzestan, 16,520 in Mazandaran, 15,764 in Fars, 15,663 in West Azerbaijan, 15,553 in East Azerbaijan, 15,370 in Gilan, 12,095 in Qom, 11,682 in Kerman, 7834 in Kermanshah, 7505 in Hormozgan, 7298 in Yazd, 4989 in Bushehr, 4844 in Qazvin, 4260 in Zanjan, and 3335 in Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari. While regime President Ebrahim Raisi claimed on Saturday that 70 percent of Iran’s population will be vaccinated in the coming days, the state-run Arman daily published a telling piece on Sunday: “Recently the Health Minister and other senior officials have been talking about 50 percent vaccination of our population, and pledged to increase it to 70 percent. Such remarks are not only a grave mistake but will normalize coronavirus in our society. Only full vaccination of 70 percent of the population can provide mass protection. Full vaccination means two dozes of vaccines at the specified timing by the vaccine production company. We cannot say one dose of the vaccine has been provided and we now have established herd immunity or that the entire population, or even 50 percent, have been vaccinated. Following the mistakes of the previous government, they are now leaving the people preoccupied with vaccination, normalization, and various figures.”

“Regarding the vaccine, some sections of the government were not coordinated,” said former regime foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Sunday in comments that come after hundreds of thousands of people have lost their lives coronavirus in Iran. “I realized this about Mr. Namaki and his team, and they followed in the footsteps of Mr. Mokhber, being hesitant in importing vaccines until the Barekat vaccine was produced,” according to the state-run Khabar Online website.

Mohammad Mokhber was the head of the Executive Imam Khomeini Order (EIKO), known as the financial empire of regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and is now the regime’s First Vice President.

“Most certainly our medical staffs, and especially the nurses, are tired and fatigued. They definitely need a recovery period and an opportunity to revitalize their lost energy. Across the country we have nearly 140,000 nurses who have contracted Covid-19. More than 60,000 of them contracted coronavirus in Tehran alone, and they were forced to stay home. This increased the pressure on their remaining colleagues,” said a senior medical official in Tehran on Sunday, according to the state-run Hamshahri daily.

“The number of black fungus patients is increasing. 107 such patients are hospitalized in Khomeini hospital. This figure is increasing and we lack medicine for these patients as we speak,” said the deputy head of Tehran’s Khomeini Hospital on Sunday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“During the past 24 hours 28 coronavirus patients have lost their lives, of which 17 were in the city of Urmia. During this period 314 new coronavirus patients were hospitalized, and the total in this province currently stands at 2035, of which 304 are in ICUs and 73 are under ventilators,” said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

The number of dire coronavirus patients in ICU sections have increased by 15.4 percent, said the dean of Qazvin Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

“Conditions in Mazandaran province are very fragile when it comes to the coronavirus spread. The province registers at times as a red zone, and at times as a yellow zone. We are leaning more to a red zone,” said a regime MP from the city of Behshahr in Mazandaran province on Sunday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The number of deaths remains high. The number of people seeking initial medical care in clinics under the umbrella of Kashan Medical Sciences University stands at 424 in the past 24 hours, and 5718 patients are hospitalized in the temporary sections. This is extremely concerning,” said the deputy dean Kashan Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the Tasnim news agency.

“During the past week the city of Bashagerd and the Island of Kish, despite their good vaccination rates, are witnessing an increasing number of positive cases,” said the spokesperson of Hormozgan Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the state-run Hamshahri daily.
