“Some have interests in the coronavirus spreading. Officials are deliberately allowing people contract the virus and thus pocket riches through selling medicine… our health apparatus’ policy is to have people become ill, because their interest lies in people getting ill,” said the director of Iran’s House of Nurses on Sunday, according to the state-run Tejarat News outlet.

“Iran’s stats regarding the Covid-19 death toll and cases tops the world’s stats and we are far ahead of others. We are currently in extremely poor circumstances in comparison to other countries,” said the head of the Mashhad Medical Apparatus on Sunday, according to the state-run Resalat daily.

“Death is pouring down everywhere, like a volcano that has erupted… In the morning when the sun has yet to rise, the corpses are seen laid one after another. People wearing black with red eyes, all saying farewell to their loved ones. The entire city is in grief. Ambulances are in long lines and are transferring corpses one after another. There are so many dead bodies that even van taxis in Mashhad are being used to transfer them… There is no empty casket in the city. The daily death toll in the city of Mashhad is higher than 100. This is the official stats. Our count shows it is at least two or three times that,” according to a Sunday article published by the state-run Sharq daily.

“In comparison to last week the number of new cases has risen by six percent and those being hospitalized by four percent. The daily death toll has risen by 54 percent. Yesterday we had a new record once again. The number of people seeking initial medical care for Covid-19 symptoms has been around 2000 per day in the past six weeks. This figure reached 1007 in the past 24 hours,” said the dean of Ahvaz Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the Fars news agency, an outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

“Irresponsible officials are to be blamed for those dying each day. Today we are at the peak of this crisis and literally in the heart of the coronavirus catastrophe. However, there is no significant support,” said the dean of Abadan Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the state-run Tejarat News outlet.

“During the past 24 hours the number of coronavirus deaths in Gilan province has hit a new record once again. 48 coronavirus patients lost their lives and the number of people hospitalized per day continues to be extremely high,” said the deputy dean of Gilan Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Conditions in [East Azerbaijan] province is deteriorating with each passing day. The number of people being hospitalized continues to rise each day and currently stands at over 1500,” according to a Sunday statement released by the Tabriz Medical Sciences University.

“The death toll in the past month increased by 450 percent in comparison to the month prior. Each day the number of patients hospitalized and those seeking initial medical care for Covid-19 symptoms continues to rise in [Ardabil] province, and we have yet to reach the peak of the fifth wave. Each day we have 150 new patients hospitalized and 15 to 16 registered deaths,” according to a Sunday statement released by the Ardabil Medical Sciences University.

“During the past 24 hours 611 new patients have been hospitalized. 3543 patients are currently hospitalized across [Isfahan] province. During the past 24 hours we have lost 47 patients,” said the spokesperson for Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Sunday.
