Iran, June 15, 2021—Over 312,200 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Tuesday afternoon local time, June 15. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 82,351, around a fourth of the actual figure.
The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 73,166 in Tehran, 20,980 in Isfahan, 19,636 in Khuzestan, 18,980 in Razavi Khorasan, 12,793 in East Azerbaijan, 11,738 in West Azerbaijan, 10,467 in Fars, 8913 in Alborz, 5207 in Yazd, 4225 in Hormozgan, 3609 in Qazvin, and 3279 in Bushehr. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

“In Tehran there is a black market to purchase Pfizer vaccines with prices ranging from 250 million to 600 million rials ($6,000 to $14,250). The vaccines are smuggled into the country. This market is flourishing while vaccination across Iran has come to a halt; there is a severe shortage in vaccine doses and many who need their second dose have been left to wait,” according to a Tuesday piece published in the state-run Hamshahri daily. “The entire process of finding a customer is carried out very carefully and only through trusted individuals… The vaccine is applied by trained individuals and at the site the customer is provided a vaccine card with a stamp of the Iraqi Kurdistan Health Ministry,” the article adds.
“The coronavirus branches of Mohammadi and Persian Gulf hospitals in the city of Bandar Abbas have reached their full capacity… There is now a record number of 10,148 people quarantined in their homes,” said the spokesperson of Hormozgan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.
“The number of people contracting coronavirus and those hospitalized during the past 24 hours, in comparison to the day before, has increasing significantly. The number of people hospitalized during the past 24 hours increased by 20 percent and those released decreased by 37 percent,” said the dean of Qazvin Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the Tasnim news agency.
“The city of Jahrom is on the verge of becoming a red zone. If this trend continues, without a doubt we will witness a high number of beds in our hospitals being occupied with Covid-19 patients and restrictions being reimposed,” said the dean of Jahrom Medical Sciences University in Fars province on Tuesday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“Considering the new variants of coronavirus and the southern cities of [Bushehr] province neighboring those of Hormozgan province, the threat of a new rise in coronavirus cases is threatening these areas. There is a possibility that the Indian variant will spread in the southern parts of Bushehr province,” said the dean of Bushehr Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.
“We now have 293 coronavirus patients hospitalized,” said the dean of Golestan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency, while emphasizing on the rising trend of new coronavirus cases during the past four days across Golestan province.
