“We are forecasting that the current circumstances will continue for the next month. It is not likely for the daily death toll to drop below 100 in the next two weeks,” said Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi on Wednesday. “We still have over 10,000 new confirmed cases per day. This indicates the virus continues to spread and considering the entry of the Indian and African variants, there is a possibility of a domestic mutation of this virus. We are still very much in danger,” he added, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“Yesterday we saw a decrease in the number of Covid-19 deaths, and we witnessed an example of lowering stats in the fourth peak. However, a more precise analysis indicates the number of people hospitalized for coronavirus increased by 50 percent in comparison to last week,” according to a Wednesday report wired by the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

“In the first plane of Iranian diplomats flying back from India we had 104 Iranian nationals return to the country. At the entrance six of them tested positive for coronavirus,” said the deputy governor of Tehran province on Wednesday, according to the Tasnim news agency.

“Conditions are not good at all. The cities of Gachsaran and Basht are still centers of concern because the Indian variant has been seen in the neighboring city of Bushehr,” said the deputy dean of Koghiluyeh & Boyer Ahmad Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the IRGC-linked Fars news agency.

“All the Chinese, English, Indian and African variants have been detected in Hormozgan province [southern Iran]. Most of the cities in this province are registered as red zones. The spread of Covid-19has escalated in the past two or three weeks, and one after another the cities are becoming red zones,” said the governor of Hormozgan province on Wednesday. “Last week we had the highest number people hospitalized, even in comparison to the peak of this illness last year. The number of people seeking initial medical care for Covid-19 symptoms have increased,” this official added, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“Two days ago we had 741 positive coronavirus cases and this number increased to 874 in the past 24 hours, setting a new record. 7695 coronavirus patients are in house quarantine,” said the spokesperson of Hormozgan Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“944 people are hospitalized for chronic breathing disorders. 436 are hospitalized with suspicious coronavirus symptoms and 201 are in ICUs. The city of Urmia, with a large margin, has the highest number of people being hospitalized for coronavirus per day,” said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the Tasnim news agency.

“The three cities of Jiroft, Sirjan and Shahr-e Babak are registered as red zones. After Hormozgan, the province of Kerman has the highest number of red cities and towns,” according to a Wednesday report wired by the Tasnim news agency.

“Covid-19 is escalating in Golestan province. The number of coronavirus patients has reached 283, of which 54 are in ICUs and 17 are under ventilators,” said the dean of Golestan Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the Mehr news agency.

“The city of Qom has yet to surpass the fourth coronavirus peak and we need to fully abide by all the rules, regulations and hygiene protocols,” said the governor of Qom province on Wednesday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.
