“Currently we have more than 10,000 cases of people seeking medical care for Covid-19 symptoms. The number of people being hospitalized on a daily basis is around 1400. We are still in the peak of this illness and may not be relieved of these circumstances for another month,” said Nader Tavakoli, deputy chief of Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Friday. “Right now, we are faced with an increase in the number of people seeking initial medical care for coronavirus symptoms, and for another two weeks the number of people being hospitalized will increase. In fact, the increasing trend may not be significant but in the capital, we will not have a major decrease in the number of people hospitalized and those seeking initial medical care. In Tehran we have reached the peak of this illness, an issue that we are concerned about is a jump in the numbers. Of course, we have yet to identify the Iranian variant. However, considering the increasing trend of the transfer of this virus, a mutation is also very possible,” he added, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The test results of Indian workers in Yazd show signs of the Californian variant. Eleven samples were sent to Tehran and some were identified as Indian and Californian variants. Of course, others who have tested positive for coronavirus will be considered cases of the Indian variant,” said the deputy dean of Yazd Medical Sciences University on Friday, according to the Tabnak website, an outlet linked Mohsen Rezaie, former head of the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

“Currently we have 1879 coronavirus patients hospitalized across [Fars] province, of which 295 are in ICUs. With 24 patients losing their lives to Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, the province’s total death count stands at 4186,” said the deputy dean of Shiraz Medical Sciences University on Friday, according to the official IRIB news agency.

“1207 new coronavirus cases have been identified in various medical centers under the umbrella of this university,” said the spokesperson of Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Friday. “Currently we have 2104 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 367 are in ICUs. During the past 24 hours we have lost 24 patients to Covid-19,” this official added, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“With 16 Covid-19 patients losing their lives in the past 24 hours, the total death count in Alborz province has reached 3672. In the past 24 hours 150 new patients have been hospitalized across the province,” said the dean of Alborz Medical Sciences University on Friday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The fourth wave continues to make advances, and 620 coronavirus patients are currently hospitalized throughout [Gilan] province. 100 individuals who have contracted Covid-19 were added to these numbers in the past 24 hours alone, and 110 such patients are in ICUs due to their dire conditions,” according to a Friday report wired by the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the IRGC Quds Force.
