One state-run newspaper in Iran wrote the true Covid-19 casualty figure is 2.5 to three times higher than official stats. “The true number of coronavirus victims is estimated at above 160,000 by non-official sources,” according to a Wednesday piece published by the E’temad daily.

Conditions are out of control and the country must be quarantined, according to another state-run daily. “We will reach 1000 deaths per day. The hospitals can no longer accept even a single patient and the crisis sections of our cemeteries are filled. This means we are in the middle of a catastrophe,” according to a Wednesday piece published by the state-run Arman daily.

Following constant lies, regime President Hassan Rouhani acknowledged today that the vaccine crisis is the result of orders from regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei based on not purchasing an American and British vaccines. “The Health Ministry made the decision and raised the issue in the National Covid-19 Task Force that they are seeking a variety of vaccines. Some from the West and some from the East. There were some orders made and negotiations were under both in the West and the East. Conditions changed, meaning we were placed in a situation that it was determined to not purchase or import at all from certain countries. This is when things changed,” Rouhani said on Tuesday.

“Tehran is on the edge of a cliff. Some have suffered irrecoverable economic crises, such as street vendors and seasonal workers. It is a joke to expect these people to abide by health protocols. Many of them say we are dying of poverty. Let us die of Covid-19. In Tehran we have 8550 hospitalized coronavirus patients in Tehran and 2100 are in ICUs,” said Alireza Zali, head of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Tuesday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“Yesterday was one of the saddest days in the 50-year history of [Tehran’s] Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery. The number of Covid-19 deaths reached the 150 mark, and we must add 200 non-coronavirus deaths to this number. 350 deaths in one day is unprecedented, even during the 1980s Iran-Iraq War. Even the countries various earthquake crises ended in around a week,” said the director of Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery on Wednesday, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

“2430 patients are hospitalized, and 375 people are in ICUs. During the past 24 hours 40 coronavirus patients have lost their lives,” said the public relations director of Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the Moj news agency.

“Eleven cities and towns in Fars province are in hyper-critical conditions, 18 are registered as red zones, seven are orange and there are no low or no-danger zones. Yesterday 36 people lost their lives to Covid-19. There are 2540 patients hospitalized and 354 are in ICUs,” said the deputy dean of Shiraz Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“During the past 24 hours 18 people have lost their lives to coronavirus. There were 835 new cases, which is the highest in the past year,” said the governor of Markazi province on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“1354 people are hospitalized in the coronavirus branches, of which 263 are in ICUs. During the past 24 hours 15 people died of Covid-19,” said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

The deputy dean of Tabriz Medical Sciences University said on Wednesday that 1600 people are hospitalized for coronavirus in East Azerbaijan province. This is the highest number of hospitalized Covid-19 patients in this province since the beginning of this pandemic.

“During the past 24 hours 16 patients died of coronavirus. 1295 patients are hospitalized and all the cities of Lorestan province are registered as red zones,” said the deputy dean of Lorestan Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“1450 coronavirus patients are hospitalized, which has seen a three-fold rise. 297 patients are in ICUs, the daily death toll is in two digits and the trend is increasing,” said the deputy dean of Mashhad Medical Sciences University, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“With 363 new patients hospitalized during the past 24 hours, [Mazandaran] province is witnessing a new Covid-19 flood. Currently there are 1595 coronavirus patients hospitalized in this province, of which 284 are in ICUs,” according to a Wednesday report wired by the ISNA news agency.
