“There are concerns about this new wave of the new strain in Khuzestan expanding to other provinces,” said Health Minister Saied Namaki on Tuesday, according to the Fars news agency, an outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

“The rising numbers of the UK strain, the previous experience we had in refusing to impose quarantine measures in contaminated areas, the very sow process of purchasing Covid-19 vaccines which is worse than even the world’s poorest countries, are all due to the officials’ negligence and without a doubt they are unacceptable,” said a member of the Security Commission in the regime’s Majlis (parliament) in a letter to Namaki on Monday. “Take urgent action through any means necessary and at any financial cost before we reach a four-digit daily death rate. It is certain that if this inadequate vaccination trend continues… we will impeach the president and yourself if necessary,” he added, according to the Majlis website.

“Conditions in Tehran are very fragile, and a new development can come about at any moment. During the past 24 hours there have been 380 people hospitalized, of which 111 are in ICUs,” said Alireza Zali, head of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Tuesday. “The total number of patients across Tehran province during the past 24 hours stands at 2112 with 802 in ICUs,” he added, according to the state-controlled Aria media outlet.

“Today with the UK strain circulating across the country and Tehran province there is no age group that remains immune. We are witnessing an increase in patients under the age of ten being hospitalized,” said the Tehran province governor on Monday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

Head of the Amir al-Momeneen Hospital in Ahvaz, southwest Iran, on Tuesday reported this hospital is reaching its full capacity and people are in line to receive treatment in the emergency section, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“We have added to the number of our beds and transferred non-coronavirus patients to other branches,” said the dean of Ahvaz Medical Sciences University on Tuesday.

“Yesterday we conducted 2500 tests at the West Ahvaz Hygiene Center and around 40 percent were positive. This is an extremely high number,” said the head of the West Ahvaz Hygiene Center on Tuesday.

“Up to a few days ago the number of people dying of Covid-19 in Ahvaz were in single digits. However, it has been a few days that at times our daily death toll reaches 17,” said an employee of a morgue in Ahvaz.

“During the past 24 hours we have had nine coronavirus deaths and nearly 100 people hospitalized across the province. This indicates a significant increase in comparison to the days before. Currently we have 490 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 138 are in ICUs and 29 under ventilators. The total number of deaths in our province stands at 3645,” said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“We have 539 coronavirus patients hospitalized across the province, of which 94 are in ICUs,” said the deputy dean of Shiraz Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.
