While the country’s medical sciences universities and many regime experts have in the past three days been warning of an increasing number of new Covid-19 cases and patients being hospitalized in the provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, West Azerbaijan, Fars, Lorestan, Khuzestan, Alborz, Yazd, Hamedan, Semnan and Hormozgan, the religious fascism ruling Iran continues to refrain from purchasing the coronavirus vaccine. Regime officials are continuously referring the people to the “Iranian vaccine” while it remains unclear when it will be available and what quality it actually has.

“Three Iranian vaccines are advancing very well in the Barekat Foundation, the Pasteur Institution and the Razi Institution. There is hope that by the end of spring or the beginning of summer our people will be able to use the Iranian vaccine,” said Ali Rabie, spokesperson of the regime’s presidential cabinet on Tuesday, according to state TV.

“If the status quo continues as is we will be entering the fourth peak in mid-February or early March. People are fatigued,” said Minoo Mohraz, a member of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Monday, according to the Fars news agency, an outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

“Issues raised in the National Covid-19 Task Force are top secret and the publication of such subjects on the internet should raise questions. These meetings are held behind closed doors and only a portion of the non-classified comments are aired by state TV,” said Alireza Raisi, spokesperson of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Tuesday, according to the Fars news agency.

In Tehran, the governor said on Monday night that the number of Covid-19 patients is steadily rising, pushing Tehran from a yellow into an orange zone, according to state TV.

“During the 24 hours 4100 people have sought medical treatment for coronavirus, which is an increase compared to previous weeks. These rises are mainly in state hospitals, but in Tehran most of these cases involve people seeking medical treatment in private clinics,” said Alireza Zali, head of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Monday. “Therefore, they may not be included in the official figures. The numbers in this regard may be far higher than what is announced today. During the past week the number of people hospitalized have been between 1600 to 1800, while the total number of people hospitalized across Tehran province was 1936 on [Sunday],” he added, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“To this day 3120 people have lost their lives and currently there are 380 Covid-19 patients hospitalized, of which 104 are in ICUs,” said the deputy dean of Shiraz Medical Sciences University in Fars province on Tuesday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

Head of the Lamerd Health Network said there is a new peak taking shape. “Most certainly we will be facing a rise in the number of Covid-19 cases. Unfortunately, our hospital in Lamerd is reaching its full capacity,” this official said on Tuesday, according to the Mehr news agency.

“We are concerned about a fourth wave of new cases and deaths. The increasing number of new cases during the past week have been significant and this sounds an alarm,” said the deputy dean of Lorestan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the Mehr news agency.

“Currently we are slowly seeing the number of cases begin to increase. It is far worse than before, meaning everyone that comes into the hospital needs to be placed in ICUs,” said a member of the Razi Hospital medical staff in Ahvaz, southwest Iran, on Monday, according to state TV.

“During the past few days, we have been witnessing an increase in the number of people seeking medical treatment in hospitals. In the coming few weeks the number of people hospitalized and Covid-19 deaths may increase and we will probably witness a fourth wave of this illness,” said the spokesperson of the Alborz Medical Sciences University Covid-19 Task Force on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.
