“We are always concerned about a return of a heavy Covid-19 wave. A severe coronavirus wave may return,” said regime Health Minister Saied Namaki on Thursday. “We are facing a shortage in hospital beds while dealing with this crisis with 1.6 hospital beds for each 1,000 people. This doesn’t match even the weakest European country in the fight against Covid-19,” he added, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Conditions will most definitely become worse and this time around we will not be able to overcome the status quo,” said Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi on Thursday. “Our hospitals and medical professionals have their own problems,” he added, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

Despite escalating concerns due to the criminal policies imposed by regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and President Hassan Rouhani, there is still no specific timetable to make the coronavirus vaccine available to the Iranian people.

“Around June 20 we will have access to the Iranian vaccine and I believe in September, God willing, there will be no shortage in vaccines and we can say until the end of the [Persian calendar] year (another 14 months), the vaccination process will reach a point where we can break the virus’ chain reaction,” claimed the chair of the National Covid-19 Task Force Scientific Committee on Wednesday, according to state TV.

Alireza Zali, head of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force reported a 1.8 percent increase in all the numbers regarding Covid-19 cases in comparison to last week. “In the past 24 hours there has been a 4.8 percent increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in comparison to the day before. The death rate among children under the age of ten was reported at 4.4 in December, while these numbers were reported at 0.5 percent in March 2020,” Zali said on Thursday. “If these circumstances continue and leads to an increase in the number of people hospitalized and deaths due to Covid-19, we will be witness to the next coronavirus wave in February… Rushing into lifting restrictions can lead to the return of a wave of this illness,” he added, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

In Mazandaran province, “the city of Amol, currently in its fourth month being registered as a red zone, has not been able to overcome such circumstances despite imposing severe restrictions. In fact, the situation has worsened. Some members of the medical society believe the red status in Amol began back in September 2020,” according to a Thursday report wired by the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“The number of people seeking treatment and those being hospitalized have increased in comparison to last week. This is extremely concerning,” said the head of the Qom Province Health Center on Wednesday. “In the past 24 hours the number of positive Covid-19 tests in this province have tripled, indicating a mutation of this illness,” this official added, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

“With an increase in the number of positive tests we will be witnessing an escalation in the number of people being hospitalized in the coming weeks. This sounds an alarm regarding the beginning of the fourth peak and it is extremely concerning,” said deputy dean of Kermanshah Medical Sciences University on Thursday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“We are witnessing a rise in the number of coronavirus patients being hospitalized. 91 Covid-19 patients are in ICUs, 30 of which are under ventilators,” said the dean of Golestan Medical Sciences University on Thursday, according to the Mehr news agency.
