Hesitation, lies, and deception continue regarding the topic of Covid-19 vaccines. The spokesperson for the regime’s Food and Drug Organization acknowledged there is no indication on when the vaccine will be imported, the purchased vaccines are not credible and the people of the countries where these vaccines are made have not used it themselves. “The exact date when the vaccine will be imported, and when the vaccination process will begin cannot be announced. Necessary measures will be taken considering the high volume of vaccine requested by countries across the globe,” this official said on Friday. “[The vaccine] needs to have approval in the source country and the people there need to be using it,” the official continued, according to the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“We need to differentiate between the hard work of Iranian experts and the political process regarding the vaccine,” said a member of the Beheshti University’s Scientific Board on Friday. “Never make a political tool out of the vaccine and do not involve politics in such a field of expertise. Transparency is the remedy in such situations,” the official continued, according to the state-controlled Khabar Online website.

“I don’t trust foreign vaccines. The same people who own these vaccine-production companies believe the world has a high population and there needs to be a 20 percent decrease,” said Mohammad Reza Naqdi, deputy coordinator of the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) on Friday. “This decrease can only take place through an increase in the number of deaths. Based on available documents, these institutions themselves have been involved in the formation of this virus. My area of responsibility concerns the IRGC members that work with me and I must manage their daily affairs. I can provide recommendations to them and in this regard, no one can say I have interfered in their work,” he continued, according to the state-controlled Aftab News website.

“We may witness another coronavirus wave in late January or early February, and we hope it is not a very strong wave,” said a senior official of Tehran’s Masih Daneshvari Hospital on Friday, according to the semi-official ILNA news agency.

“The death rate in most cities of [Mazandaran] province is increasing in a concerning manner,” said the spokesperson of the regime’s Health Ministry on Thursday. “Most certainly more cities of this province will become red zones,” she added, according to state TV.

“In Mazandaran, the numbers of new cases, patients hospitalized, and deaths have increased and is continuing to increase,” Health Minister Saied Namaki said on Thursday, according to state TV.

The dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Friday reported 207 new cases were registered in the past 24 hours across this province of northwest Iran. “Conditions in many cities remain orange and yellow, and the spread of coronavirus has not been contained. Currently there are 440 coronavirus patients hospitalized in medical centers across the province, of which 134 are in ICUs and 37 are in more dire conditions and under ventilators,” the dean explained, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).
