Iran, November 29, 2020—Over 172,200 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 465 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Sunday afternoon local time, November 29. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 47,875, nearly a fourth of the actual figure.
The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 42,421 in Tehran, 12,185 in Razavi Khorasan, 9830 in Isfahan, 9170 in Khuzestan, 6843 in East Azerbaijan, 6350 in West Azerbaijan, 5766 in Gilan, 4902 in Fars, 4600 in Alborz, 4361 in Sistan & Baluchistan, 430 in Hamedna, 4287 in Golestan, 3419 in Kerman, 3403 in Markazi (Central), 3027 in Yazd, 2693 in North Khorasan, 2534 in Semnan, 1957 in Ardabil, 1870 in Hormozgan, 1775 in Ilam, 1556 in South Khorasan, and 1209 in Kohgiluyeh & Boyer Ahmed. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

“According to the Health Ministry’s Epidemiology Committee, the number of Covid-19 cases and deaths are extremely high across the country. In the five provinces of South Khorasan, Ardabil, Tehran, Golestan and Qazvin we are witnessing an increasing trend or a new peak,” according to a Sunday report wired by the semi-official ISNA news agency.
“We are seeing many cases of quarantine regulations violations and in some parts of Tehran there are reports of 73 percent of such breaches which are very concerning,” said Alireza Zali, head of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Sunday. “Quarantine regulations in red cities are the equivalent of lockdown measures but these are not lockdown restrictions. These latest measures are not fully implemented. The most effective strategy is a full restrictive lockdown. A minimum two-week lockdown can have a lasting impact,” he added, according to the regime’s official IRNA news agency.
“During the past 24 hours we have lost 24 patients to Covid-19 in centers under our supervision,” said the spokesperson of the Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Sunday. “Currently we have 1709 coronavirus patients, of which 368 are in ICUs,” the official added, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).
“It has been more than ten days since coronavirus restrictions have been imposed in Shiraz and other cities of this province. However, Covid-19 continues to run wild and the number of coronavirus deaths and new cases have not dropped,” said the deputy dean of Shiraz Medical Sciences University on Sunday. According to officials of this university many Covid-19 patients are asked to stay in bed at their homes since hospitals are running out of beds. The number of people dying day rangers between 40 and 45… 41 people died yesterday due to Covid-19 and the total number of coronavirus deaths in this province has 2469,” the official added, according to IRNA.

“The number of people being hospitalized for Covid-19 and those dying of this virus are continuing to rise. In Qazvin, the weekly average of new cases is 19.5 per 100,000 people, and the number of deaths reported this week stands at 45 per one million people. Both numbers are higher than the country’s average, according to the Health Ministry spokesperson on Sunday about Qazvin province, according to IRNA.
“Each day the number of people being hospitalized in ICUs are rising. The increasing number of deaths continues to rise, and 13 patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours,” said the dean of Ardabil Medical Sciences University on Sunday. “Currently there are 481 coronavirus patients hospitalized and these stats have risen significantly in the past 24 hours. If this trend continues there will be no empty beds in our hospitals,” the university dean added according to Mehr.
“In the past 24 hours there have 809 new Covid-19 cases,” said the dean of West Azerbaijan University on Sunday. “1294 people are hospitalized in our medical centers, of which 305 are in ICUs and 70 are under ventilators,” the dean added, according to Mehr.
