“The country is in a crisis mode due to coronavirus. The number of deaths is extremely high. The healthcare apparatus has endured enormous pressure. Regrettably, 400 people are losing their lives every day and this figure may go up rapidly,” said Seyyed Mohammad Pakmehr, deputy chair of the Health Committee in the regime’s Majlis (parliament) on Thursday. “If it continues like this, the final death toll may reach 200,000. Around 32,000 of the country’s 110,000 nurses have contracted Covid-19 and only 4,000 nurses have been hired since the spread began across the country. So, in sum, nurses are under grueling pressure,” he added, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

Deputy of the Tehran Covid-19 Taks Force said on Wednesday there is an increasing number of people entering hospitals up to 7,000 in one day and they are in need of oxygen. “We are facing a five-fold increase in the amount of oxygen consumed due to coronavirus. We are seeing an increasing number of people entering hospitals in dire conditions. Currently the number of Covid-19 patients is remarkably high, and they are generally in worse conditions in comparison to March. The patients are currently coming to seek treatment in far worse conditions and the number of patients being released has decreased. In the coming months we will be witnessing an increase in this trend. Due to the extreme circumstances we have twice requested a shutdown in Tehran so senior officials would agree with stronger limitations in order to have medical professionals re-energize and for us to surpass this tsunami,” the official added, according to the Fars news agency on Wednesday, an outlet linked to Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

“During the past three weeks we have witnessed extremely dire conditions. The number of people being hospitalized has reached 800 per day and this has decreased our hospital capacity,” another deputy of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force said on Thursday, according to Mehr news agency.

“Razavi Khorasan province becomes darker with each passing day,” according to a report wired by the semi-official ISNA news agency on Thursday. “Coronavirus is breaking records each day. Neyshabur is one of the six critical cities that is witnessing very dark cities.”

“In the third wave the population in the city of Neyshabur have contracted Covid-19 far more than the rural areas. Currently the 22 Bahman Hospital is full, and 100 percent of the beds are allocated to coronavirus patients… if restrictions are not imposed, we should expect a humanitarian catastrophe,” says the deputy dean of Neyshabur Medical Sciences University on Thursday, according to ISNA.

“Most of our cities are in red or hyper-chronic status. The tests are showing 50 and at times 60 percent positive cases in some cities and this is not good at all,” said an official in East Azerbaijan province on Wednesday. “The number of deaths is 20 to 25 per day,” the official added, according to state TV.

“One of the main challenges we are facing is a shortage in oxygen in this province and procuring oxygen supplies from neighboring and other provinces,” said the chief of Imam Reza Hospital in the city of Tabriz on Wednesday, according to state TV.

“Yesterday for the first time the number of daily hospitalized cases surpassed the 300 mark and reached 308 people being hospitalized in our medical centers. The total number of people being hospitalized in our province stands at 1174, of which 145 are in ICUs and 55 are in dire conditions,” said the head of Kermanshah Covid-19 Task Force on Thursday, according to ISNA.

“Why do not provide the actual Covid-19 stats to the people. When the number of new cases and deaths resulting from Covid-19 in Fars surpassed the country’s average or our province being in red status, we should not be indifferent. In fact, we should tell people the truth and find an immediate solution to the Covid-19 illness,” said Alireza Pak-fetrat, a member of the regime’s Majlis (parliament) in Fars province on Thursday, according to ISNA.

“During the past 24 hours 18 coronavirus patients have lost their lives and the total number of Covid-19 fatalities have reached 1809 in this province,” said the caretaker of Alborz Medical Sciences University on Thursday, according to Mehr.

Spokesperson for the Kerman Medical Sciences University reported 29 coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours and the total number of coronavirus deaths reaching the 1274 count,” according to a report wired by the Fars news agency on Thursday.
