“We expect the number of new Covid-19 cases to go even higher in the coming days. The higher the number of people being hospitalized, the higher the chance of the death toll rising,” said Deputy Health Minister Alireza Raisi on Wednesday, according to state TV.

“Today the number of beds with Covid-19 patients in Tehran province surpassed the 6,000 mark, of which 1,700 are patients that are in need of intensive care,” said Alireza Zali, head of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Thursday. “Over 42 percent of the dire Covid-19 patients across the country are currently hospitalized in Tehran… During the past 24 hours over 10,000 patients sought medical treatment across the province,” he added, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“In the current circumstances all our hospitals are full, and we have no empty beds,” said the Covid-19 Task Force public relations office of West Azerbaijan province on Thursday. “A total of 1254 patients suffering from breathing disorders are hospitalized, of which 229 are in ICUs and 75 are under ventilators. In the second wave the highest daily death toll reported in this province was 20. Right now we have a report of 34 deaths in one day,” he added, according to the Javan daily, an outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

“The number of cases is increasing each day. During the past 24 hours we have identified 621 new patients and 19 people have lost their lives,” said the deputy dean of East Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Thursday. “Over 1200 people are hospitalized across the province. Our ICU sections are full, and we have no room to hospitalize dire patients,” this official added, according to the IRGC-linked Fars news agency.

“Reopening schools and holding various ceremonies led to the current circumstances during which this and next week we will witness the consequences,” said the governor of Kashmar, a city in Razavi Khorasan province on Wednesday. “The number of people hospitalized in Modares Hospital has reached its highest level since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. 32 percent of our medical professionals in the city of Kashmar have contracted Covid-19. Conditions for our physicians, nurses and other medical staff members, who are working awfully hard, has become extremely difficult,” the governor continued, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Each day we are setting new Covid-19 record set the day before. During the past 24 hours we have hospitalized 189 new patients with Covid-19 symptoms. Currently we have 724 patients hospitalized who may have contracted Covid-19. The number of people hospitalized are breaking records in comparison to previous days. 124 people are in ICUs and it is overly concerning,” said the head of the public relations office in Kermanshah Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to Javan daily.
