The spokesperson of the regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers as 183 deaths and 3097 new cases in the past 24 hours, indicating the highest such number in the past 40 days. “In the past week we have been witnessing an increasing trend of new hospitalizations in comparison to the week before. The highest number of new cases and patients hospitalized have been in Qom, and the highest number of Covid-19 deaths in the last week have been in the provinces of Qom, Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari and Isfahan,” she said on Sunday, according to the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“These days’ statistics indicate that Tehran has entered a third wave. The gap between the second and third wave has been very short. The numbers are rising and naturally these numbers do not indicate a passing wave. The stats that we are experiencing now are in line with a third wave taking shape,” said Alireza Zali, head of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Sunday. “Some mourners did not abide by the health protocols during recent religious ceremonies. Naturally gathering inside buildings without adequate ventilation and refusing to abide by health protocols all have an impact on the further transfer of this virus. Considering the reopening of schools and universities, naturally a high number of people who were in their homes up to this day are now in the open. This all has an impact on the transfer of this virus,” he added, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Currently, with the passage of time, the novel coronavirus has not only not decreased, in fact it has worsened in the city of Tehran. In June the virus mutated and there were changes that resulted in many people to be contaminated in many places across the country,” said Minoo Mohraz, a member of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Sunday, according to the Javan daily, an outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC). “The steep increase in the number of new cases and deaths are concerning. Conditions are very poor in all our hospitals and medical centers. With the influenza season beginning in the next few days we will be experiencing difficult circumstances. Covid-19 is like a time bomb and it may explode at any moment, destroying all of our infrastructure,” the piece adds.

“From the beginning of this pandemic one-third of our medical staff have contracted the virus,” said the head of the ICU branch in Mashhad’s Imam Reza Hospital on Sunday. “If the number of people being hospitalized is not controlled, we will be facing a crisis due to the lack of ample equipment and fatigue among our nurses and physicians. In the third wave we do not have fresh medical staff members and new equipment. Our medical staff is extremely tired, and we cannot replace them with new personnel,” he added, according to the semi-official ILNA news agency.

“The number of new Covid-19 cases have increased by 46 percent in comparison to two weeks ago,” said an official in South Khorasan province on Sunday, according to Javan.

“In the past 24 hours, we have had 11 deaths, which is unprecedented in the past four months. In the past few days, the number of patients hospitalized surpassed the 300 mark and 50 to 60 people are in ICUs. The number of patients on ventilators are 36 and they are in dire conditions,” said the caretaker of Qazvin Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the Fars news agency.

“The number of people hospitalized with chronic breathing disorders is 645 at this stage, of which 148 are in ICUs and 39 are on ventilators. The number of deaths in this province has increased to 958,” said the head of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to ISNA.
