Reported by PMOI/MEK

Iran, April 2, 2019 – As floods continue to ravage many cities and towns across Iran on Tuesday, destroying dozens of villages in its path, authorities are failing to take any adequate measures to provide aid.

Officials say orders have been issued for the city of Susangerd and other areas of Khuzestan Province to evacuate.

Piranshahr in Kurdistan Province, western Iran, is also engulfed by floods.

Water is rising in Dez River and locals say there is no sign of any officials or authorities to at least evaluate the damage, let alone provide desperately needed aid.

In Rumeshkan, Lorestan Province, floods have ruined the locals’ lives and are entering homes across the town.

Ten main bridges in the town of Sahneh, Kermanshah Province, western Iran, have been damaged, according to the local mayor.

Floodwaters are threatening 60 small towns around the city of Karun in Khuzestan Province, southwest Iran. Many floodgates are giving in, locals are reporting. A village by the name of Cham Mehr was completely “drowned” for 24 hours.

Unfortunately, two people, a man and a woman, lost their lives in the city of Aligudarz, Lorestan Province, western Iran, according to the city mayor. The two were placing barriers to prevent water from entering their home. More reports indicate three dams in this area have overfilled.

Numerous new roads in Khuzestan Province are also reportedly blocked and orders have been issued for various villages to evacuate, including Hamidiyeh.

Khuzestan’s governor sent a special representative to the city of Susangerd to announce warnings to the people to immediately evacuate. Estimates indicate water will enter the downtown areas.
