Sattar Khan

Sattar Khan began a heroic struggle along with his few courageous comrades in Amirkhiz district in Iran’s northwestern city of Tabriz. He went on to have a significant role in the victory of the Constitutional Revolution. However, Tonekaboni rose to power and opportunists and enemies of Iranian independence entered the scene, curbing the people’s freedom movement and isolated Sattar Khan. As a result, he was exiled to Tehran and his forces were disarmed.
After raiding the residence of Sattar Khan in Tehran, he was injured and passed away four years later on November 16, 1914. He was later buried in Ray City.
The Iranian Dehkhoda thesaurus writes about Sattar Khan: In the early 20th century, he escalated Iran’s image abroad… his resistance against 40,000 ruthless soldiers in eleven months gained worldwide respect and admiration for him and all Iranians, unique in the past three centuries.
