Dr. Mosaddeq’s warning against cheating in parliamentary election

On January 10, 1947, Dr. Mosaddeq attended a gathering of several thousand participants and objected to the Ghavamolsaltaneh administration’s meddling in the election and threatened to boycott it if they do not stop.
Recognizing Ghavamolsaltaneh as a British element, Dr. Mosaddeq said:
Do not play with democracy and the people’s vote. We should either have a fair election or no election at all. The government’s intervention in election is treason to the people’s rights. Let them elect whoever they want. If they feel they have made a wrong decision, they will pay more attention and open their eyes next time. Repetition of this act promotes democracy.
