Germany exits League of Nations and Disarmament Commission

Adolf Hitler
Adolf Hitler
-On October 14, 1933, Hitler’s government terminated its membership in the League of Nations, describing the body as useless and without executive capability. Taking absolute power in Germany in January of that year, Hitler said that the country was viewed as a second-degree state in the League of Nations and therefore being a member in such an organization was meaningless. In the same day, he also annulled Germany’s membership from Disarmament Commission and argued the commission will be useful only when all the member states would be disarmed equally. Hitler said that Germany would be armed for self-defense. He branded the previous administrations as traitors and said the Nazi Party government was something else.
