Iran coronavirus update: Over 473,100 deaths, regime MP hails failed indigenous vaccine

Iran, November 9, 2021—Over 473,100 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Tuesday afternoon local time, November 9. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 127,551, around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 111,005 in Tehran, 38,650 in Razavi Khorasan, 32,290 in Isfahan, 28,900 in Khuzestan, 17,410 in Fars, 16,388 in East Azerbaijan, 15,690 in Lorestan, 13,938 in Alborz, 12,592 in Kerman, 8759 in Kermanshah, 7667 in Kurdistan, 7300 in Semnan, 6018 in North Khorasan, and 4086 in South Khorasan. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Tuesday as 112 deaths and 8305 new cases. Furthermore, 3640 patients are in ICUs and 1203 of the new cases have been hospitalized.

Following a continuous series of remarks from the regime’s own experts regarding the indigenous Barekat vaccine and increasing embarrassment for the “Execution Imam Khomeini’s Order” (EIKO)—the entity controlled by regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei—in producing this vaccine, a member of the regime’s Majlis (parliament) added a new twist to this ongoing crisis.

“After hearing the opinions of experts and political/administrative officials involved during the coronavirus crisis… they said not to neglect the vaccine for coronavirus. This is a source of pride,” said Javad Karimi Ghodoosi in an open-door Majlis session on Tuesday.

It is worth noting, however, that last week an advisor to the Health Minister had said: “We made a mistake in trusting the Barekat vaccine. The [company] was to produce 50 million doses of the vaccine by October 23, and they did not. There was significant support for this vaccine, and they had made plenty of pledges.”

“The number of people seeking initial medical care for Covid-19 symptoms during the past few days has increased by 30 percent, going from 1400 to 2000. This is causing concerns and will be a warning about a new peak,” according to a statement released on Tuesday by the Mashhad Medical Sciences University.

“There are currently 745 coronavirus patients hospitalized, being the highest such stat in the past ten days,” according to a statement released on Tuesday by the Razavi Khorasan Covid-19 Task Force.

“During the past 24 hours 252 new cases have been registered. The cities of Azna, Chegeni, Dolfan, Dorud, Rumeshkan, Borujerd, Kuhdasht-e Zard, Khorramabad, Aligudaraz, and Selseleh are orange Covid-19 virus zones, while the city of Poledokhtar is considered a red zone,” said the deputy dean of Lorestan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“During the past 24 hours 240 new patients have been hospitalized and the total count stands at 1674 in Fars province, of which 192 are in ICUs,” according to a statement released on Tuesday by the Shiraz Medical Sciences University Public Relations Office.
